J. Craig Venter, a biologist renowned for his contributions in sequencing the first draft human genome in 2001, is co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Human Longevity Inc. He is also founder, executive chairman and chief executive officer of the J. Craig Venter Institute and co-founder, chairman, and co-chief scientist chairman of Synthetic Genomics Inc. Venter is a recipient of the 2008 National Medal of Science, member of the National Academy of Sciences.
