Manoranjan Paul (M’03, SM'13) received B.Sc.Eng. (hons.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh, in 1997 and PhD degree from Monash University, Australia in 2005. He was a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh from 1997-2001. He has worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in UNSW, Canberra (2005-06), Monash University (2006-9), and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (2009-11). He is currently working as an Associate Professor in Computer Science, in the School of Computing and Mathematics, Charles Sturt University, Australia.
He has published 140+ refereed publications. His publications are cited 1319 times with h-index 21, i10 index 41, m-index 1.3 according to Google Scholar. A/Prof. Paul published 3 journal articles in the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing (Rank A* and Rank 1 in Signal Processing according to Google Scholar Metrics), 4 articles in IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (Rank 1 in Multimedia), 1 article in IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (Rank 2 in Multimedia), 1 article in IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering (Rank A*), 1 article in IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering (Rank A*) and 2 articles in PLoS ONE (Rank 25 among all journals and conferences in the world). He organized a special session on “New video coding technologies” in IEEE ISCAS 2010. He was a keynote speaker on video coding in IEEE ICCIT 2010 and videoEveryWhere workshop in IEEE WoWMoM 2014. He was also a tutorial speaker in DICTA 2013. A/Prof. Paul is a Senior member of the IEEE (M’03 SM'13) and ACS (’05). A/Prof. Paul is an Associate Editor of rank Q2 journal EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing (JASP). A/Prof. Paul has served as a guest editor of Journal of Multimedia from 2008-2013. Currently A/Prof. Paul is an Editor of the International Journal of Engineering and Industries (IJEI) and the International Journal of Soft Computing, Mathematics and Control (IJSCMC). He has been on Technical Program Committees of more than 40 international conferences. A/Prof. Paul obtained more than $1,000,000 competitive grants including the most prestigious grant ARC Discovery Project.
