Lee Lui Shiong,Consultant of Singapore General Hospital, Singapore. Dr Lee Lui Shiong completed undergraduate education at the National University of Singapore in 2002 and obtained postgraduate qualifications of MRCS (Edinburgh) and MMed (Surgery) in 2005. In 2010, upon completion of advanced surgical training, he was awarded the College of Surgeons Gold Medal in Urology as the most outstanding urology trainee.Thereafter, he went on to receive the National Medical Research Council Overseas research training scholarship and the Health Manpower Development Programme award. This allowed him to undergo 2 year fellowship in Cambridge, UK where he carried out translational research to identify and validate a novel prostate biomarker. He also pursued sub-specialty surgical training in prostate, bladder, testicular and kidney cancer.As a surgeon managing urological malignancies, he is specifically interested in improving patient outcomes with minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery.He has chief research interests in translational medicine and development of biomarkers in urological cancer. He is a collaborator in several IRB approved clinical studies and clinical trials. He is also the first author of several publications in peer reviewed international journals.In addition, he is clinical senior lecture in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and adjunct Assistant Professor in Dukes GMS. He is also an active member of the Singapore Urological Association and the European Urological Association.
